Insert Node

Used to insert an existing node into an existing finite element. Sometimes there are situations in modeling where a node located at the intersection of two elements (such as a T-intersection) did not split the element that was intersected. The node is there, but it was not inserted into the support finite element. An example of this happening is if you had drawn a T-intersection with Analytical Features turned off. If you turn on Analytical Features and then add an analytical member first to the supported member and then to the support member, the support member will not be split. Use this tool to insert the node into the support member and split it properly.

You can use this tool on individual nodes, or you can create a selection set and use it on multiple nodes.

Analytical member for supported member was added, then analytical member for support member was added. Node was added automatically, but the support member was not split.

Insert Node tool will insert the node into the support analytical member, splitting it.

Result is that the support analytical member is split properly
